May 20, 2024

We have some lovely dog friendly beaches in our area so we thought we’d list a few to help you out if you are looking for somewhere to go with your four legged friend!!

Par Beach – Dogs welcome all year round – Extremely popular with Dog Walkers! The bonus of this beach is a Huge car park with plenty of parking and easily accessible. You can quite often find food and coffee trailers parked up in the car park and there is also the Ship Inn next door for a drink or bite to eat afterwards!

Hallane Beach – A Much smaller quieter beach to the North East of Pentewan. Access to the beach is via steps and maybe suited more to dogs who like to swim and explore rather than run miles. Park at Trenarren and walk to the right along the track, then take the bridleway to Hallane Mill.

Caerhays Beach – Another large beach that welcomes dogs all year round! Known as Porthluney Beach – it makes up part of the Caerhays Estate. This beach is also great for families so brilliant if you want a day out with the kids AND the Dog. This Beach also has a Cafe open everyday throughout the Summer.

Hemmick Beach – This is a good size beach but with slightly trickier access – best encorperated into a coastal walk as it lies close to Dodman Point. Park at Penare (National Trust Car Park) and then it is a steep 15 minute walk to the beach.

Carlyon Bay Beach – This Beach is around 2 miles in length and dogs are welcome fro October – Easter. There is a choice of either steps or a slope to access the beach from a large car park at the top

We hope this article was helpful and gives you some ideas of where to take your dog for a fun family day out or just a great walk to burn off some steam!!
